Stretch/2-3 minutes
Overhead snaps…5 yards/10 reps…feet wide/balls of feet
Emphasis-Hold on Ball…Guide hand..Snap of arms..Follow through with hands and fingers.
Move to 10 yards/10 reps-Same emphasis.
Move to 15 yards/10 reps-Same emphasis.

Without ball-Stance 6” each side wider than normal stance.
Hands on imaginary ball-snap 10 reps with emphasis onhips dipping slightly and exploding hands moving through legs and follow through.

Hit field goal post at 5 yards…5 reps..10 yards…5 reps

Long Snapping Review

Grip-Hand placement. Stance-Shoulder width-comfortable/flex legs/when legs are straighten legs but is raised and force is generated…Mechanics-Arms must follow through/if not a wide snap fee 6”-8” slide…Practice Drills-Pre-game/Practice…Over the head/use eyes/tight spiral/find spiral you are looking for/wobble-adjust thumb/time factor .8 second or less is great for punt/Target is punter waist/Lay on back on floor/field watch the spiral you create/ball goes straight up and down to your hand…Field Goal Snap-Snap to holder’s hands/7-8 yards…lean on all four..stand ground..adjust until the holder gets the ball with the laces out/Noseman/head-up will eyeball your grip…tighten grip sometimes to throw off…Mental Approach-Mindset/accurate 100% of the time…constant practice..yes you will get a cheap shot…bad snap…do not take personally…go to next phase/blocking and tacking…butterflies are natural…Repetition-5-7 yards..progress to 15 yards/tight spiral/repeat/repeat/repeat…Strength-Squats/Hamstring/Lat pulls/Dumbells-use partner-slow controlled pull up and over head/closely related to deep snap/reps with weighted ball…Blocking-Move opposite foot first when blocking…practice with gap man…snap first than block.

The Grip-Right hand on laces..left hand on the middle seam/move thump down
Equal pressure on both hands ball at 45% angle on ground

The Stance-feet a little wider than shoulder width-legs in flex postion/bent..straight when snapping forcing the feet back-legs are straight when the snap is made

The follow through-Extend arms through legs..hit the inner theighs..but will rise up

Drills- stand up and two hand catch…lay on floor and throw up
5-7 yards to warm up then go to punt snap
weight squats…lat pulls bent over with dumbbell

punt time 2.1 sec total….. .8 snap
